When using the remote app version of Word from our TS Web site, I will try to
print to a local printer. Sometimes I get the error, "Windows Presentation
Foundation Terminal Server Print W has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." What does this mean? I have been
unable to find information about this error. Thank you in advance for any
feedback.

Hi,

It appears that Easy Print is crashing for some reason.

What client OS/Service Pack are you running?

Are you running Remote Desktop Client version 6.1?

What version(s) of the .NET Framework do you have
installed on the client machine? You need to have at
least version 3.0 SP1.

Others have reported success with manually installing
(on the client PC) the .NET Framework, the latest client,
and this hotfix:

FIX: When you print an XPS file on a Windows XP Service
Pack 2 or Service Pack 3-based computer, the characters
in the XPS file print incorrectly

Hi,

How are you? I am just writing to see if you have an opportunity to perform
the troubleshooting steps. If you have any updates, please feel free to let
us know.

Regarding the kind of issues, you can also refer to the steps in the "Error
messages typically caused by local port monitor problems" in the following
Microsoft Knowledge Base article to clean the port monitor:

260142 How to troubleshoot printing problems in Windows 2000 and in Windows
Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;260142

If the solution does not help, we will need to use ADPlus tool to generate
a memory dump when the spooler service crashes and then analyze the dump
file in order to isolate the exact printer driver that causes the spooler
failure. Unfortunately, we cannot analyze dump file in newsgroup threads.
To do so, you will need to contact Microsoft Customer Support Services
(CSS) so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with this
request. Thank you for your understanding.

To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a
look at the web site listed below.
